I know how you feel, I’m also a fan of the classic 8 and 16 bit games… anyway, some of the PSO/U/P/Z are quite good games. They are not REALLY Phantasy Star, but they are interesting if you keep an open mind.

I usually see things this way: the PSO series is some kind of alternate reality where Adolf Hitler is a famous comedian and Charles Chaplin is a cold-blooded murderer. In PSO, you see some of the elements of the classic PS games, but they are all mixed up and in different places. It may not be what I really wanted, since I absolutely love the original saga, but it’s kind of interesting at times, and a bit addictive too.

Desculpem o texto abaixo Inglês. Google iria destruir o significado do meu texto

Well, I have played (and owned) all the games up to Phantasy Star Portable 2, which was the very last time Sega I could tolerate what they did with the series. Repetitive gameplay only based on loot/grind and shallow story/characters give me a very bad taste when I play this. Until PSP2, I tried to blind myself to the truth. That this game were good. I was forcing myself to play them and enjoy them when it was just a crushing and painful experience to endure. But PSP2, with it’s laughable storyline, and everything based on hundreds hours of grinding made me say “STOP, I WILL NOT SUPPORT YOUR DESTRUCTION OF MY BELOVED SERIES ANYMORE”. Too bad, because I still love the music and art for these games. But if the gameplay and story is a joke, this can’t be called Phantasy Star. Sorry for the rant on your site.

Feel free to rant about PSO/U/Z/P/whatever, I understand your point and it’s completely valid!
